Due to the #500 days anniversary of RoyalSirPlus the leading heads of the aviation alliance answered questions from fans and supporters as well as from members of the RoyalSP-Alliance. They were asked to ask questions through a online form which was officially published by the RSP some days before. All those who were interested could apply for a limited slots on the RoyalSP-Teamspeak-Server where the CEO SirSimon, SirLeo, SirEric, SirDonald and SirMike answered questions in front of the community.
The recorded interview took place on 3rd May 2017 and was moderated by SirDaniel.
"So hello y'all. Welcome to the interview with our leading managers of the RoyalSP-Alliance. We make this interview to give you a unique look inside of the RSP and to get you more familiar with our management.
So let's have the first question."
How would you all describe the RSP in three words?
"Well, easy. Community, International, Family."
"Royal, that is our lifestyle and our quality we represent. Sir, that stands for us, for our community as Leo said. And Plus is that what makes us unique. We're not as others. We're so versatile and so individual as we are represented in nearly all sectors concerning aviation."
"That's too difficult. I cannot describe such a huge company in three words."
"Business, Stress, Development. That's what I'm going with."
"I don't know. Maybe Passion, Family as well and a Dream. I would definetely say that the RSP is a dream which came true for all of us here."
What do you (SirSimon) expect for the next years?
"There are many possibilities and it really depends on the members we have and how they influence the RoyalSP. It is impossible to plan exactly for the next years. We make smaller steps and I think that might be our secret. It is not all about the future far away from us. The RSP can achieve more if we make smaller steps and have less topics on our agenda. But for the RSP in general I see a glorious time with great moments that sureley will happen.
Even now we can be proud on what we have achieved in the past."
What was it for an idea you all started with? What was your goal when you founded the RoyalSirPlus back in 2015?
"We started flying together online and got familiar with the virtual aviation sector. Many of us became friends and got connections and some friendships still exist today. Me and my friends were really inspired by flying the airliners in FSX and had kind of a roleplay, you know, of flying for a real airline and so on. We did many flights together, long-haule flights as well as many fun flights around the world and exchanged our experiences. We all shared the same hobby but had no opportunity to be represented as a community. And out of this we realized that we could found such a virtual airline to be united in one group.
We then found members who were interested in flying on a regular and voluntary basis and so started expanding, needing paints for our aircrafts etc. We used our existing connections to get bigger and built up a structure, created an Instagram-Account and joined the virtual airlines market. Our community grew as well and we spent so much time to build this thing up."
"Well, I joined the alliance later in 2016 as you might remember. I joined them because I was really interested in that virtual aviation thing and thought that it might be worth it to apply as a pilot for the RSP-Regional. At this time I didn't know any other virtual airlines and was flashed by the opportunities the RoyalSP could offer. It was pretty exciting to become a part of this aviation alliance and I spent almost all of my freetime in flying for the RSP at the beginning."
Do your families know what you are doing and what's their reaction?
"All of my friends and family know about the RSP but many do not have the full overview about my position and our network. Some of them just know that I'm flying in the flight simulator, others know about my rank as the CEO of RoyalSP and the exactly things I'm doing in the RSP and some people just know about the RoyalSP in general but have no idea about the passion and dynamics in the alliance."
"Yeah, I told my whole family about the RoyalSP and they were a bit confused first but as they recognized how much energy the RSP has they started to be proud of me and to accept this completely new lifestyle I adopted more and more. I remember that my dad told his mom about my position in the RoyalSP and how proud he was to tell her about his son's achievements."
"My family also know about the RSP and really love what I'm doing. Many of my friends also know a lot about the alliance. For my birthday they have sent me a RSP-Cargo case for my mobile phone what was really exciting because they exaclty knew how to make a mobile case in the style of the RSP."
"I told my family about the RoyalSP as I got the job in the RSP-Express. They were not that much suprised because they know that I'm always looking for the best scoop."
"My whole crew knows about the RoyalSP and about the spirit and passion behind it and also what it means to be a member of RoyalSP."
How many hours do you spend with the RSP every day?
"In general, the business is simple if you have all your staff coordinated. So if everything works perfectly together I can lean back and watch my crew managing the aviation alliance. Most of the time it does so and I spend like two to three hours a day with managing and coordinating but on harder days it could rise up to over six hours."
"Well, I can say that I spend around two hours a day working for the RSP. Excluded are Skype-Conferences because they're often much longer."
"I spend like three to four hours a day with the RSP. Many things just need a lot of time like e.g. controlling posts and looking for photos to repost. Also informing about the latest
aviation topics is one of my jobs I have to do every day and managing the crew for the Instagram-Account of RSPS and the website."
"I've enough managers so I'm not wasting a lot of my time for the RSP. There are often more complicated topics I'm concerned of."
"I'm very busy with other stuff all the time so I often just spend less than one hour with the RSP a day."
What's your favorite thing about the alliance?
"I love the international connection we get through the RoyalSP. Of course, it's not always as easy as it looks like but most of the time it's a lot of fun chatting with all those international members. I also love the familiar feeling in the RSP. This one hobby which connects all of us."
"Man...So, well (giggles), yes, my favorite thing about the RSP are the members. The people are interested in so many things and each member is part of this big puzzle called RSP. Every
member participates in this huge community and if we look back we see what we have reached. We see members that have left the RSP and we have many members who stay by our side and make our family
great. As Leo said, it's this one hobby that unites us and every member brings its unique qualifications with them. This pluralism of thoughts and ideas, this different characters and
personalities...That's my favorite thing about the RSP."
"Yeah, I agree with both of them. I also have to say that I love this business stuff a lot. You can think about so many little things to make the virtual realism even more realistic and with
our members and pilots we are able to make even bigger steps than before."
"I love the uncountable nationalities of the RSP-Members. Especially the RSPS contains over 20 different nationalities represented by the members and it's just amazing how they communicate
and that they all share the same passion."
How many people are part of the RSP and your community?
"Well, the RSP has so many different groups and so many management positions. We cannot say the exact number but the RSP has less than 500 international members at the moment. 12% of those
are in a management position to lead our alliance and make it great. Our social media community contains about 2300 people from all over the world who support us and help us growing."
Do you have friendships throughout the whole alliance?
"As I joined the RoyalSP through the RSP-Regional, I didn't have any contacts but as they recognized my motiviation and engagement I quickly got familiar with the whole alliance and started to build up friendships. Especially now when I work together with the other managers the relations are very friendly and we are like real bros."
"Yes of course I have friendships. I'm chummy with all of our members and pilots."
"Yeah, I also have friendships but most of them are business oriented. I have enough non-RSP friends that keep me right on track all the time."
"I'm more about the business in the RoyalSP and not interested in having much contact with members and the management."
When did you start flying on the Sims?
"I've been flying on the Flight Simulator X since 2006. I'm constantly flying FSX for three or four years now."
"Hahah, yeah I've been flying FSX since the first Beta-Version was published lol."
"Actually, I started flying on FlightSims as my dad bought FS2002 and FS2004. As I bought my new computer I was able to fly the higher quality Sims and so we bought FSX. I've been actively
flying FSX for three years now but as I joined the RSP the time I spend with flying rapidly increased."
